As we get older, we begin to understand the need for a “life style change” which is basically just a fancy word for eating healthy.
It was all good not too long ago when you were in high school and you didn’t have to do much to have all the energy in the world and not to mention, the perfect body.
And then BOOM, just like the years pass by, the pounds start packing on. We begin to feel sleepy all the time (cause’ who doesn’t love a good nap) and sooner or later, we slowly start to understand that burgers and fries may not have been the best diet all along.
Below we’re giving you 3 steps to take when making a lifestyle change:
1. Change your mindset
Too often when we think about replacing bad habits with better ones, we think it’s the end of the world. In reality, it’s just the beginning of a better life… And before we go on, just a disclaimer, if you are not willing to change your mindset, stop right here because until you have a made up your mind, nothing will work for you.
Continuing, set goals with the intention of slowly but surely cutting out foods that you know you shouldn’t be eating.
2. Make sure you are doing this for yourself
Have you ever had someone make a comment about your weight and all of a sudden you begin to feel your confidence slowing going away. While sometimes we may have loved ones who truly have our best interest in mind and are simply telling us the truth about noticing weight gain. They notice that you seem to have less energy than normal and not to mention that blunt friend that we ALL seem to have that tells the truth no matter what.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what other people have to say about you, if you are happy with your body image, then what other people have to say shouldn’t have any hold on you. Successful lifestyle changes only happen when a person is ready and willing to do whatever they need to do in order to make a change for the better.
3. Ignore the rude/ignorant comments you’re likely to get
Okay, once you switch from eating burgers and fries to eating leaves and flavored air, expect weird facial expressions, uncalled for comments and your friends encouraging you to revert back to eating loaded fries and burgers. Once again, it doesn’t matter what anyone has to say, you are doing this for you and no one else.
Take these tips and run with them. Happy lifestyle changing!
