The time has finally come where you are leaving the nest to become an adult at your university. You’re super excited to finally experience what the real world is like without mommy and daddy telling you what to do. If you’ve ever left the nest to live on a college campus, this scenario sounds all too familiar and may be nostalgic to those who are in their second or third year of college and have finally gotten the hang of things.
Soon reality will start to set in when you realize you can no longer yell from your bedroom, “what’s for dinner!” From now on, you will have to figure out what’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Let us be the first to confirm the rumors, freshman fifteen is very real so watching what you eat needs to be at the top of your list.
Let’s get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?
Soooo… you say you don’t know how to cook?
If you learned how to do your hair, makeup, eyebrows, found the perfect workout routine, learned how to change a tire etc. from YouTube, YouTube can teach you how to cook too.
Literally, whatever you want to learn how to cook can be found by simply watching a YouTube video.
You can find videos on how to make a full course meal using a microwave, the possibilities are endless. If you are on a meal plan, pay attention to what is being offered and don’t be afraid to ask questions about how the food was prepared. Eating pizza and French fries everyday will leave you feeling sluggish and can possibly put you on track to packing on unwanted pounds.
Limit the amount of times you eat out per week and if you do it often, switch up your routine from eating fast food everyday to finding the nearest salad bar or any place that offers healthy options.
Don’t starve yourself, but become incredibly aware of what you are putting in your body, you’ll thank yourself later
