The College Girls Guide To Self-Care

With COVID-19 in full effect, we have more time than ever to practice self care. Our lives have drastically slowed down which gives us the amazing opportunity to spend more time with ourselves.

If you don’t know where to start, what to do or what self care even looks like, keep reading.

What is self care?

Self-care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health.

Do your nails

First up, nails. All of the nail shops are closed and most of us are out here struggling. Now is the perfect time to hone in on those skills you used while in elementary school. Whip out your nail filer and nail polish and give yourself a manicure and spa pedicure (can’t forget the toes).

Can’t forget those eyebrows

At this point, you’re probably looking at yourself in the mirror wondering, what’s going on here? Everything looks a mess right now, but we’re about to fix that.

Find your nearest computer or simply go on youtube from your phone and look up tutorials on how to clean up your eyebrows yourself. It’s easier than you think. And let’s be serious, you don’t have a choice at this moment.

Do nothing

We live in a “hustle all the time” culture. Taking a break is considered unacceptable and people look down on you if you decide to take a nap.

Don’t get caught up in this culture. Yes, we should all be working hard, but, not taking a day off will do more harm than good. Take the day off, take a nap, DO NOTHING. Your body will thank you.
