The Ultimate Guide for Getting Your Shit Together in College

Is your life in shambles? Do you often wonder whether you’re coming or going? Do you need help getting your shit together?

Yes, yes and yes? Alright, take this walk with us, ’cause you obviously need some help.

The ultimate guide for getting your shit together in college

1. Use a weekly calendar

You’ve probably heard this a lot, but trust us on this. Set your goals/intentions for the week to help you stay organized. It’s also a good idea to look back on your week and see what goals were accomplished and which one’s you fell short on.

2. Create a to-do list daily

A daily to-do list is a lot different from your weekly calendar. A to-do list is a more detailed list of what needs to be done for the day. Whereas in your weekly calendar you can write down what needs to be done, your to-do list will detail the steps needed in order to get that thing done.

3. Take your frustrations out in the gym

..or somewhere in the park. Is your professor pissing you off? Midterms/finals getting the best of you? There’s no better way to feel better than to get a good workout in in order to release all of those feel good endorphins to put you in a good mood. Endorphins are chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain. So, go ahead and get that workout in, you won’t regret it!

4. Make your dorm room/apartment your safe haven

After a long and stressful day of your professor talking too much, you need to actually look forward to going home. Whether you’re on a budget or not, try to make the place where you lay your head as peaceful and as beautiful as possible.

5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help

Never feel guilty for asking for something that you need. College comes with it’s challenges and we all could use some help. If you’re falling behind on classes or just can’t seem to grasp certain concepts in your classes, ask for help.

6. Listen to your body

Sometimes we feel the need to keep going and going and goin until we finally burn out. You can only perform your best if you are at your best. Read that again. If a power nap is what you need, take that. If a 3 hour nap is what you need, take it and don’t feel guilty about it either. Take the rest that you need before your body forces you to sit down.
